Getting her first taste of the freight business in 2012, Dena’s transportation career began, not out of passion for the industry, but instead out of necessity to support her family.


Speaking about her start, she said: “I was working in pharmaceutical sales until suddenly, my whole division got laid off and I was left a jobless, divorced, single mom living in a crappy apartment
trying to figure out what to do next”


Dena continued: “After applying over & over to Access America Transport I finally got accepted and started my transportation career”

Talking about her reasons for eventually joining PEI, Dena went on to say: “I wanted the opportunity to prove myself and run my own business in order to give my son a better life”, not only that, she continued: “I could no longer deal with all the bureaucracy day after day”.

In October 2020 Dena joined as a PEI agency, noting: “It’s not ran like a typical freight company, it’s not got the extensive layers of management, it is so refreshing”. “The level of hands off from
corporate and the trust they put into me is just wonderful”


From April 2021, Dena’s agency benefitted from a bespoke marketing campaign provided by PEI, at no expense to her. She’s still winning new customers today and has so far closed over $1 million
in sales from it. Speaking on the campaign, she said: “In terms of new customers, corporate has brought me more than I have on my own”.


When asked on her success and how she thinks other people can succeed as a PEI agency, Dena emphasized: “You can’t just break away and start on your own from zero”.

“You have to have a knowledge base; you have to know what you’re doing, and you have to be confident. “Freight doesn’t wait. I tell my people this all the time. Anytime you get an inquiry, you must respond immediately”
